Past the lake, and further apart
Castaic sits north of the city proper, up past the lake, and it is not laid out like the valley floor. Lots are larger, houses sit further apart, and a good number of properties are set well back from the road they are addressed on.
Distance is what changes the plumbing. A long run between the meter and the house loses pressure on its way, and when it develops a leak it does so somewhere under a lot of ground that nobody has a drawing of. It is the difference between an afternoon and a week, and it is worth knowing which you are dealing with before the digging starts.
